Mental health stigma in Islington’s Somali Community
The launch of a new report on mental health stigma in Islington’s Somali community and discussion on what we can do about it
Following conversations with hundreds of people, we found that there is deep-rooted stigma surrounding Mental Health within Islington’s Somali community. Stigma means people with a Somali heritage do not seek support when they experience mental health problems. This can have a devastating impact on their lives, their families and the wider community.
We are keen that this is the beginning of a conversation so it will be an evening of discussion!http://peelinstitute.org.uk/
