A perspective on OCD and hoarding

Partner Events
by Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust

Do you suffer from obsessive and compulsive behaviour?

Do you experience urges to carry out repetitive ritual actions, particularly at a time of anxiety?

Are you able to live and cope with this, or does it significantly disrupt your daily life?

If you experience the condition known as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), or are simply interested in learning more about it then join Stuart Linke, C&I’s Head of Complex Depression, Anxiety and Trauma Service (CDAT), for our next “Mental Health Matters”* event.

Stuart, a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at C&I and Associate Research Fellow at University College London, will provide an overview of the condition, discuss the different ways it can appear, and how psychological understanding of the condition and related behaviour, such as hoarding, has developed in recent years.  He will also discuss what treatments are available for OCD.

Stuart will also be joined by a service user who will share her own personal account of coping with OCD and what the trigger points are.

Date: Thursday, 19 October 2017

Venue: Room 4, First Floor, West Wing, St Pancras Hospital, 4 St Pancras Way, London NW1 0PE

Time: Doors open at 5.30 pm for a 6pm start. The event is scheduled to last about an hour, including questions and answers.
